Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, actress/writer/producer Kathy Christopherson is the youngest of four children. Kathy has been involved in the entertainment industry in some way, shape or form since she was a little girl. Over the years, she has gained the reputation for blending her ‘leading lady’ persona with her ‘character actress’ sensibility. A long time student of the brilliant Larry Moss, Kathy has also been blessed by the guidance of the late John Lehne and Jeff Corey. She has worked with some of Hollywood’s most gifted actors including Roy Scheider, Grace Zabriskie, Michael Madsen and James Russo. She has portrayed such diverse roles from the estranged wife in “Executive Target,” the seedy hooker in “Dreams and Shadows,” a lesbian architect in “Cold Case” to the delusional junkie in “Intermission.” Kathy has also gained a reputation for acting in award-winning national commercials, such as the “Expedia” spots with ‘Cooper’ and the Superbowl “Bud Light” spot with Sean P. Hayes. A big lover of theater, she has had the honor of playing in some of LA’s best equity-waiver theaters, including The Court, The Odyssey and the HBO Workspace. She has most recently put herself on the writer/producer map with her first feature script, “The Wind Effect,” which was one of the top five finalists in the 2007 IFP Market festival in NY.

While she studied acting and dabbled in the theater, Kathy spent most of her early years as a dancer. After a friend convinced her to enter the Miss Chicago Teenager pageant, she took the crown and went on to be the 2nd runner-up in Illinois. She started to book commercials and small roles in studio films that came to Chicago, and she was instantly hooked.

Upon coming to Hollywood, Kathy immediately jumped into an original theatrical production, got an agent, and started working in television. Then, a near fatal motorcycle accident put her career on hold. At the time, she was working for actor William Devane as a personal assistant, and he continued to support and encourage her during that time. Upon her recovery, she did guest star roles on primetime TV and a number of indie short films for festivals.

Finding herself more stimulated by the daring nature of independent film, she dipped out of the status quo for a while and began to write. Her very first screenplay captured the attention of great filmmakers such as Frank Darabont and David Cronenberg, inspiring her to see the project through. Producing a 20-minute version of “The Wind Effect,” starring herself, William Devane, Grace Zabriskie, Marcia Cross and John Pyper Ferguson, Kathy is now in development on the feature project.

Kathy recently formed the small production company, Cherry Street Films, LLC. with Pete McPartlin. It is in post-production on its first project – a web series entitled “In the Bath with Kath,” which was written and created by Kathy. Next February, the new CW series she stars in, “Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight” will begin to air. Kathy plays ‘Michelle Walsh,’ a character introduced as a snooty paranormal journalist, then working her way into the nuts and bolts of the story. Her first appearance on “Entourage” aired this season, and she is currently recurring on ABC’s “Private Practice” as ‘Carrie Sinclair.’
